About the Role
As a Technical Artist at Moon Tavern Games, you will partner with the art and engineering teams to ensure that the game runs smoothly and looks great.The game you will be working on will be an RPG with an original IP and is heavily inspired by retro games. We're a small team with significant creative freedom – you're encouraged to contribute to the player experience by providing input (both technical, artistic, and otherwise) in order to shape the end product.Benefits include:

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with engineers and artists to create a content pipeline for art assets
  • Build tools to enable artists in their day-to-day work
  • Identify opportunities to improve the player experience and team efficiency
  • Contribute to the creation and enforcement of asset budgets
  • Provide technical support (e.g. version control) for the art team
  • Utilize profilers to identify and optimize rendering performance bottlenecks
  • Playtest and provide feedback on the game throughout development

What you'll need

  • Experience developing video games as a technical artist
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experience with sprite-based art pipelines is a plus
  • Experience with Timeline and Cinemachine is a plus
  • Experience creating shaders (both ShaderGraph and hand-written) is a plus
  • Experience using profilers (Unity, GPU profilers, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience developing for iOS and Android is a plus
  • Experience with version control on live games is a plus
