Backend Engineer

We're looking for a talented and passionate Backend Engineer, to join Wildlife's s team in São Paulo, Brazil. 

As a backend engineer, you'll work directly with several teams such as the games' teams, product, marketing, data science, and data engineering to develop world-class platforms that are used in our games' creation, operation, and distribution. Our main goal is to empower and enable each of those teams to do their work faster and better, making our games reach the next billion people. We'll need you to understand our systems flows, identify common demands from different teams, and work in close collaboration both within the team and with different parts of the organization to design secure, resilient systems with great usability and performance.

What you'll do

  • You'll work closely with your team, your manager, and the company's developers to understand the current pain points they have when working with SDKs. You'll help to prioritize those issues and implement them in an agile manner. You'll work in all fronts of the team, ranging from CI pipelines and SDKs, to backend development.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer science concepts (data structures, networking, concurrency, memory management, algorithm analysis, etc).
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of computer science: big O notation, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Interest in working with different technologies and in different environments.
  • Experience with REST API development and design.
  • Experience wit CI/CD.
  • Database modeling.
  • Basic Web UI development.

  • Experience with GitLab CI or Jenkins experience.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with Typescript.
  • Experience with DevOps (kubernetes, docker, AWS).
  • Experience working in developer experience teams.
  • Experience with UI/UX.
